Due to COVID-19, our summer 2020 Lacey In Tune Entertainment series has been cancelled. However, we plan to provide other recreation and entertainment opportunities, if circumstances allow.

The cancellations include:

  • Tuesday Children’s Entertainment series
  • Wednesday concerts at noon in Huntamer Park
  • Friday concerts (new)

 

However, the Parks and Recreation staff is working on a Thursday Family Entertainment Series to be held at various neighborhood parks this summer. In addition, they plan to offer Movies in the Park in August. All events will take place with appropriate Health Department guidelines in place and only if allowed under the Governor’s orders. The events are posted here, and will be updated, if necessary.

Alex Zerbe - The Zaniac Comedy Juggling

When was the last time you laughed with your kids?

With the energy of 1,000 suns, Alex Zerbe moves like a rubber band from one end of the stage to the other. Beatboxing, juggling, dancing, singing, music, and magic are just a few of the things that led Piers Morgan of America’s Got Talent to call Alex, “The total package.” The two-time Guinness World Record holder performs his 60-minute show at Lacey in Tune on July 7.

Buck and Elizabeth - Fairytales and Fantasies

He is friends with "Puff", a unicorn and many more magical, mystical, colorful friends. They visit his "Funny Farm" where animals and books grow every time he sings and plays...

Ruth & Emilia - Kids Music Duo

Ruth and Emilia are a mother/daughter kids music duo who rock! Their albums and interactive shows, The Spaceship That Fell in My Backyard, and Kokowanda Bay promote acceptance of others, being the best that you can be, and making the world a better place; and are sure to have everyone singing and dancing along!

The Billboard charting duos music has appeared on television, in film, with symphonies and in choral music arrangements. They have won numerous awards including the L.A. Music Critics Award, The 2018 Creative Child Magazines CD of the Year Award, The 2018 Family Choice Award, the 2018 John Lennon Songwriting Grand Prize, National Association of Parenting Product Awards, Clouzine International Music Awards and many more!

Eric Ode - Original Kids Music

Eric Ode is an award-winning children's singer/songwriter, a widely published author and poet, and a thoroughly engaging entertainer. His upbeat, high-participation concerts are bubbling over with fun interactive music and include stories, skits, poetry, and puppets. Eric has shared his music and poetry programs with schools, festivals, and libraries throughout the United States, Germany, Japan, and Guam.

Full Metal Racket - 133rd Army National Guard Rock Band

Based out of Camp Murray near Tacoma, The 133rd Army National Guard presents its rock-inspired band, "Full Metal Racket." They perform a variety of today's hits and classic rock tunes, telling the Army story and providing entertainment across the state. They perform on behalf of the service members and civilians that make up the Washington Military Department and the great citizens of Washington.

Dueling Crooners - Fun from the Rat Pack era and beyond

You’ll enjoy the smooth sounds of Chris Anderson & Joey Jewell who come together to entertain as they bounce jokes and songs back and forth in their own unique style.

If taking a trip back to the Sands hotel on the Vegas strip and seeing a great show sounds like fun, then look no further! Joey's "Tribute to Frank Sinatra and Friends" is the closest thing to the big show in the Copa Room that you can experience in the Northwest and beyond.  

Chris Anderson had music running through his veins his entire life but didn't realize it until the age of 18. Once he discovered his gift, Chris' otherwise ordinary life took a completely different, unexpected path. First known professionally as "The Singing Busboy" of Jebino's Restaurant in his hometown of Eatonville, WA, Chris has evolved into a world-class entertainer. His seamless interpretations of classic hits, many of which were written 30-60 years before he was born, are bringing him national recognition and fans from all over the world.

The Eclectics - Music from Motown to Maroon 5

This father & son team come together to put on a show that is sure to entertain, no matter your age!  This Olympia dance party band was born out of a love of the old and new. Ron Sr. performs a lot of the old stuff, and Ron Jr. covers the new stuff. They mix it up a bit with Ron Sr. singing Misery, by Maroon Five and Ron Jr. singing Play That Funky Music, by Wild Cherry. They even throw in a few country tunes!

The Funaddicts - Playing popular hits from the last seventy years

With over 125 years of combined professional experience, this four-piece band is well versed on the nuances that make each decade of pop music unique and memorable. Using four part harmonies, expert musicianship, and an appreciation for the importance of song recognition, the Funaddicts are top pleasers on the summer concert circuit. You don’t want to miss this upbeat presentation filled with fun music that will appeal to every age group.

Dmitri Matheny Group featuring Holly Pyle - Jazz: The Stevie Wonder Songbook

Jazz artists Dmitri Matheny and Holly Pyle join forces in an all-star celebration of Stevie Wonder!

Known for her “soulfully graceful, liquid-like voice” Holly Pyle started out as an opera major before studying jazz and psychology. Now one of the most popular vocalists in the Valley of the Sun, Holly performs with leading jazz groups, tours with the progressive soul-pop band House of Stairs, and appears regularly as a solo a-cappella act using electronic looping to build masterful sonic creations.

 

Flugelhornist Dmitri Matheny has been lauded as “one of the most emotionally expressive improvisers of his generation."  An honors graduate of Berklee College of Music, Dmitri vaulted onto the jazz scene in the 1990s as a protégé of jazz legend Art Farmer. Since then he has garnered critical acclaim and a loyal international following, releasing eleven CDs and touring extensively throughout the US, Europe, and Asia. The San Francisco Chronicle calls Matheny “one of the jazz worlds’s most talented horn player.”

Afrodisiacs - 70's Hits (5:30 p.m.)

Grab those wigs, bell-bottom pants, and platform shoes and get ready to Boogie-Oogie all night long to your favorite old-school disco funk jams from the 70's. KC and the Sunshine band, Earth, Wind and Fire, The Bee Gees, Kool and the Gang and more...The Afrodisiacs have earned their title as "The Kings of Disco'!


Spazmatics - 80's Hits (8:00 p.m.)

All the awesome sounds, styles, and way-cool dance steps from the 1980s' decade we'd love to forget. Complete with skinny ties, Brill Creamed hair, and horn-rimmed glasses, The Spazmatics recapture all the best of the worst. Outstanding musicianship combined with creative flair and style makes for an evening of pure energy and entertainment. So tonight we're gonna party like it's 1999; only it's not!

Cosmo's Dream - American/Bluegrass Trio (5:30 p.m.)


Cosmo’s Dream sings original tales of foggy-mountain mega-malls, trailer-park guns and guitars, big black cats, Iditarod sled dogs, rising rivers, grandmas online, dark days ahead, beautiful beer, and Superman’s dilemma.

 

The group features Gen Obata on flat-pick guitar and mandolin, Steve Nebel on guitar, and Kristi Nebel on bass; blending acoustic musicianship with solo vocals and dynamic three-part harmonies. The trio toured from Tacoma to St. Louis in February 2016 with the first Cosmo’s Dream CD, Big Sky Blues, and toured the United Kingdom in August 2016. They toured to Los Angeles in October of 2018 for the Folk Alliance Conference. 

 

In 2019, they were a featured headline act at the Tumbleweed Festival in Kennewick as well as played in 13 park concerts in 2019 in the greater Pacific Northwest.


Heart by Heart - Heart Tribute Band (7:00 p.m.)

The original rhythm section for Heart – one of classic rock’s most successful and revered bands – is still locked in and delivering those iconic songs as faithfully as possible, says bassist and co-founding member Steve Fossen (a member of Heart from 1969 to 1982), of his band Heart By Heart.

 

Along with former Heart drummer Michael Derosier (1975 to 1982), vocalist Somar Macek, Lizzy Daymont on guitar, keyboards and vocals, and guitarist Chad Quist, Fossen says Heart by Heart is committed to play the music with as much reverence and respect as possible.

WINEHOUSE (5:30 p.m.)

WINEHOUSE is a band from Olympia, WA that is emerging full-force into the alternative pop music scene. In an age where music trends are ever-changing, WINEHOUSE aims to create a timeless sound that everyone can feel.

The band is known for delivering a captivating concert experience that bridges the gap between the stage and the audience. Through both their recordings and live shows, WINEHOUSE hopes to promote artistic exploration and inspire listeners to dive head-first into a new world of music.


Olson Brothers Band (7:00 p.m.)

The Olson Bros Band burst onto the country music scene in 2013 when they won a national songwriting contest for their hit song “Sunrise” in the Texaco Country Showdown, winning them a trip to Nashville to consult with a publishing company as well as getting introduced at The Grand Ole’ Opry. 

 

The band originated in Olympia, WA and is led by singer/songwriters and brothers Luke and Isaac Olson. Since then, the band has released two full length albums “Lookin’ At You” and “Let the Jack Drop” and an EP, “A New High.”

 

They have toured heavily up in the Pacific Northwest the past few years playing in Washington, Oregon, California, Idaho, Montana, along with receiving radio time in WA for their singles “By and By”, “If I Find You”, and “60 Cent Pocket Man”. Their single “By and By” just hit over 1.5 million streams on Spotify. The bands highly anticipated 3rd studio album, “Dancin’ In Headlights”, was released in early 2019.

August 7
Derik Nelson & Family (5:30 p.m.)

Raised in the Pacific Northwest, Derik Nelson & Family’s signature sound features velvety three-part pop/folk vocal harmonies only a family can deliver.

Siblings Derik, Riana, and Dalten have been performing together since childhood. They’ve garnered over 3.6 million views on YouTube, performed in 100+ cities across the USA, and reached nearly 1000,000 students of all ages with educational music workshops, outreach programming, and fundraising assemblies. Derik has appeared regularly as the lead guitarist on television’s “Glee,” among other shows.

The Beatniks - Definitive '60s & '70s: Rock n' Roll of the Cultural Revolution (7:00 p.m.)

The Beatnik history can be traced back to the steamy coffee shops and poetry dens of Soho, In New York's Greenwich Village. Today, the Beatnik legacy lives on in four young men who adhere to the ideology that music is more than a mere background for our lives.

They perform the music of the 60's & 70's (and 80's, too); with energy and passion that you won't find anywhere. Capturing the essence of the music with their charisma, chemistry and natural talent is why people all over the world are fans of the band.

Throughout the Lacey in Tune Season, we will be collecting YOUR VOTES to determine the movie we will be showing to wrap up the series! Voting information will be provided beginning July 17.

Huntamer Park is located on the corner of 7th Avenue SE and Woodland Square Loop in downtown Lacey. On-street parking around the Woodland Square loop is permitted during concerts to accommodate park visitors.
