March 30, 2020 Update to Utility Bill Customers:

We know the Covid-19 public health emergency has affected our community in many ways. We are working hard to reduce the financial stress this has created for our residents. The Lacey City Council passed a resolution, consistent with Governor Inslee's Proclamation 20-2.4, to make the following exceptions to delinquent utility accounts during this crisis:

  • No interest.
  • No late penalties.
  • No disconnection of services.

You can still pay your utility bill:

      • In the payment drop box in front of City Hall
      • By calling (360) 491-5616
      • Online (see details below)
      • By Mail (see details below)

Thank you for your patience during this time.

      Utility Customer COVID-19 Support Programs

      Updated October 22, 2020

Governor Inlsee recently issued the latest version of Proclamation 20-23, pertaining to Utility Ratepayer Assistance and Preservation of Essential Services.

The City of Lacey is committed to keeping our customer connected to essential services during the COVID-19 pandemic emergency. If you are experiencing hardship due to the COVID-19 pandemic, you may be eligible for support, including long-term payment arrangements or bill assistance. This Proclamation does not relieve customers from the obligation to pay for utility services.

New! City of Lacey COVID Relief Fund is a partnership between Lacey and the Community Action Council (CAC) to support Lacey residents impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. The City Council allocated CARES Act funding to support residents with utility bills, rental/mortgage payments, WIFI assistance, and childcare costs. To find out more, call the CAC at (360) 438-1100 ext. 5020, or visit their website.

The Governor’s Proclamation has now been extended to December 31, 2020. The City has prepared a Payment Plan for customers who have been financially impacted by COVID-19.

The City will be prepared to offer long-term arrangement for customers with arrearage balances.

The Utilities and Transportation Commission (UTC) will serve as the single point of contact within the State Government for customers seeking bill-assistance information. The UTC will coordinate with utilities subject to its jurisdiction, as well as the Department of Commerce, consumer-owned utilities, and local community action agencies.

For more information, call the UTC Consumer Hotline:  1-888-333-9882 or email: consumer@utc.wa.gov.
