How to Apply to Serve as a Lacey Library Board Member
The City of Lacey accepts application packets from citizens interested in serving on the Lacey Library Board on a continuous basis, whether or not there is a current opening. Application packets are kept on file for a period of one year from date of receipt and are considered each time a position becomes available. Applicants may be contacted by the Mayor to discuss the responsibilities of the position and interest in serving. The full City Council affirms advisory board and commission appointments based on the recommendation of the Mayor.
Applicants with a variety of skills, interests and experiences are encouraged to apply.
Four general members of the Library Board must reside within the City of Lacey; the fifth general member must reside within the city or the Lacey Urban Growth Area (UGA).
Members must be able to commit to monthly board meetings and required preparation time.
TERMS OF OFFICE
Library Board Members serve 5-year terms with a 2-term service limit.
All commission members serve in a volunteer capacity.
