These photos of the Lacey Police Department were taken on June 1st, 1967. 42 years ago these Officers began 24 hour service to the City at 1900 hours on that date.

In 1967, with a population of 7,650, the Lacey Police Department was established with three commissioned police personnel with Chuck Nauman as its first Chief. The department was located on Pacific next to Lacey Fire District 3 in the basement of a two story building, which is the current site of the Lacey Museum.
In 2009, the population of Lacey is 36,000. The police department has 45 commissioned police personnel with a total paid staff of 65 members and an additional 50 volunteers. It is located on College Street next to the Lacey City Hall.
January of 2006 brought the completion of the remodel and additions to the police facility.
