NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Lacey City Council has scheduled a Public Hearing to receive testimony regarding the formation of a Transportation Benefit District in the City of Lacey. The hearing is scheduled for January 28, 2016, at 7 p.m. in the Council Chambers, Lacey City Hall, 420 College Street SE.
The City Council of the City of Lacey will consider the formation of a citywide Transportation Benefit District for the preservation and maintenance of the City’s transportation infrastructure consistent with Chapter 36.73 RCW, to protect the City’s long-term investments in that infrastructure, to specifically focus on reducing the risk of transportation facility failure, and improving safety, and maintaining the optimal performance of the transportation infrastructure over time so as to avoid more expensive infrastructure replacement in the future. Sources of revenue to pay for transportation improvements would be from an increase in the local sales and use tax of up to 0.2%, if supported by a public vote, or a $20 dollar increase in vehicle license tab fees, if approved by the Lacey City Council.
The City of Lacey provides reasonable accommodations to persons with disabilities. We invite any person with special needs, including handicap accessibility or interpreter services, to contact the City Clerk’s office at 360.491.3214 at least seventy-two (72) hours before the meeting to discuss any special accommodations which may be necessary. Citizens with hearing impairments may call the TDD line at (800) 833-6388.
