LACEY INVITES PUBLIC COMMENT ON DRAFT COMPREHENSIVE PLAN FOR OUTDOOR RECREATION
LACEY, WA, June 25, 2010: The City of Lacey is asking for input on the community’s draft Comprehensive Plan for Outdoor Recreation as part of a public participation process to involve residents in the development of the overall plan. The city updates its Comprehensive Plan for Outdoor Recreation every six years.
The plan establishes goals and objectives that guide policy for future parks, open spaces, and recreational facilities. Public input during the planning process also helps the city identify desired additions or enhancements to Lacey’s recreational programs, parks and community facilities.
The public can comment on the draft plan before the Lacey Board of Park Commissioners at their regular scheduled meeting held on Monday, June 28, 2010, at Lacey City Hall (420 College St SE) in the Council Chambers. Park Commissioners’ meetings begin at 5:30 p.m.
A public hearing is also scheduled before the Lacey Planning Commission to gather additional input on the plan—Tuesday, July 6, 2010, at 5:30 p.m. Meetings are held in the Council Chambers.
A copy of the plan can be viewed on-line at the city’s official website—www.ci.lacey.wa.us. Hard copies are also available at the reference desk in the Lacey Timberland Library (500 College Street SE), and at the Lacey Parks and Recreation Department in City Hall.
