COMMUNITY INVITED TO LACEY HISTORIC WALKING TOUR
LACEY, WA, July 25: The City of Lacey invites the community to a free, historic walking tour of the oldest neighborhood in Lacey at 10 a.m., Saturday, August 12, 2017. The tour begins and ends at the Lacey Museum, 829 Lacey Street SE. Participants can visit the Lacey Museum following the walking tour.
Erin Quinn Valcho, Lacey Museum Curator, and Erich Ebel, Historical Commission Chair, will lead concurrent tours highlighting the fascinating history of the hard-working people of Lacey’s past. The tour will take participants through the historic neighborhood where these people lived (or still do). The walk will highlight several historic homes and include stops along Lacey and Ulery Streets, Pacific Avenue and 7th Avenue SE.
Individuals, families, and groups are welcome to join the tour, however it is recommended for ages 14 to adult. Participants under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Walkers are advised to have appropriate gear for the weather and walking shoes. Bottled water will be provided.
This is the third historic walking tour offered by the City with partial funding provided by the Thurston County Heritage Grant program.
