LACEY NEEDS YOUR VOTE TO WIN A GRANT FOR FREE CONCERTS
LACEY, WA, November 1, 2016: The City of Lacey wants to bring more live music to the community during the summer of 2017 by winning a national grant sponsored by the Mortimer & Mimi Levitt Foundation. A successful campaign depends on community participation to get as many online votes as possible between now and November 21. Community support, as measured by the number of online votes received, will be one of the key factors the Levitt Foundation will use to select up to 15 winners.
The City of Lacey asks supporters to visit http://levittamp.org to register and vote for Lacey. Online public voting is open now through November 21 at 5:00 p.m. The Top 25 finalists will be selected through online public voting. The Levitt Foundation will review the finalist’s proposals and select up to 15 Levitt AMP winners, announced January 5, 2017.
“Our goal is to create a dynamic place that engages the entire community through music, art, and shared experience,” states Jeannette Sieler, Recreation Supervisor for the city of Lacey. “We are excited about the possibility of expanding our summer entertainment series in a way that l energizes our community in a positive and fun way.”
The Levitt AMP [Your City] Grant Awards are an exciting matching grant opportunity created by the Levitt Foundation to serve small to mid-sized towns and cities with populations up to 400,000. Up to fifteen nonprofits will receive $25,000 each in matching funds to produce their own Levitt AMP Music Series—an outdoor, free concert series featuring a diverse lineup of professional musicians.
The PARC Foundation of Thurston County submitted the City of Lacey proposal. Supporters are asked to spread the word to family, friends, colleagues, and neighbors and rally the community to sign up and vote for Lacey.
