CITY OF LACEY RECEIVES WELLCITY AWARD FOR OUTSTANDING COMMITMENT TO EMPLOYEE HEALTH
LACEY, WA, April 5, 2016: Lacey has once again been named as a recipient of the WellCity Award from the Association of Washington Cities (AWC) Employee Benefit Trust. This marks the sixteenth consecutive year of attaining the award, which in-turn earns the city a two percent discount on medical premiums for 2017.
Lacey established its Wellness Program in 1991 in an effort to achieve the highest possible level of employee well-being, both physically and mentally. The program has since partnered with AWC to enhance program offerings and promote a culture of health within the city.
Some of the most popular campaigns that the Lacey Wellness Committee has offered have been the “Roundabout to Roundabout Poker Walk,” in which employees meet early before work and walk to different stations to pick up cards, ending in a breakfast; the “Food of the Month,” that promotes healthy foods and snacks; and the “Gratitude Graffiti Campaign,” in which employees recognize reasons to be thankful and ways to “pay it forward.”
The AWC WellCity Award is an external standard to measure the success of Lacey’s Wellness Program. For more information, contact Liz Gotelli, Director of Public Affairs and Human Resources at (360) 491-3214 or email@example.com.
