CITY OF LACEY TO HOLD OPEN HOUSE REGARDING MASTER PLAN UPDATE FOR WOODLAND CREEK COMMUNITY PARK
LACEY, WA, February 23, 2010: The City of Lacey is hosting an open house on Tuesday, March 2, to provide interested parties with information regarding the Woodland Creek Community Park Master Plan update process. The event, which will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Lacey Community Center, 6729 Pacific Ave SE, will provide attendees with information about the park’s current planning process as well as an opportunity to meet one-on-one with city staff to ask questions and offer comments.
Members of the public can drop in at any time during the three-hour event. City staff will present a brief overview of the planning process at 4:30, 5:30 and 6:30 p.m.
The park’s original master plan was completed in 1994. The update will incorporate facilities and amenities that have been added at the park since that time, proposed projects such as the expansion of the Lacey Senior Center, and future needs at the site. Public input is vital at this stage of the planning process to help identify future park improvements, uses, and recreation program opportunities.
Information and updates regarding the park’s planning process will be posted on the city’s website at www.ci.lacey.wa.us under the “Parks and Recreation Services” icon. In addition to the open house, comments can be provided in-person during normal business hours at Lacey Parks and Recreation, 420 College Street SE; by phone at (360) 491-0857; via e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org; or via postal mail at PO Box 3400, Lacey WA, 98509-3400.
