HOMEOWNERS’ ASSOCIATION ACADEMY
LACEY, WA, May 27, 2015: On Saturday, June 13, the City of Lacey will host its first annual Homeowners’ Academy. The conference-style event will feature presentations from professionals in HOA finances, legal issues, and board responsibilities. In addition, attendees will benefit from sessions on dispute resolution, stormwater facility maintenance, and traffic calming devices.
The Academy will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Lacey Community Center, 6729 Pacific Avenue SE in Lacey. Registration is $30 for Lacey and Lacey Urban Growth Area board members and $40 for others. A $10 discount is available for additional members from the same association. Space is limited and pre-registration is required.
“When a homeowner steps up to volunteer for an HOA board position, they fill an important role in their neighborhood,” said Lacey Community Liaison Mary Coppin. “Whether they are part of a self-administered association or one that is professionally managed, knowledge of HOA practices will help them be successful. The City of Lacey is pleased to offer this educational and networking opportunity for board members representing neighborhoods in the South Sound area.”
