HAZARD TREE REMOVAL AT WOODLAND CREEK COMMUNITY PARK
LACEY, WA, October 14, 2014: The City of Lacey has contracted with Ron’s Tree Service to remove twenty-eight hazard trees and prune eight trees in the disc golf course area of Woodland Creek Community Park beginning Monday, October 20 and lasting through the week.
The disc golf course and trail in Woodland Creek Community Park will be closed beginning at 7:00 a.m. on Monday, October 20 through Friday, October 24 at 5:00 p.m. for safety reasons. The public is asked to stay out of the work area, including evenings when workers are not present, until warning signs and temporary closure devices are taken down. Pets should also remain on a leash for the safety of both pets and owners.
Trees are evaluated by an independent arborist approximately every three years in targeted areas, such as trails, fences, and facilities. Due to the recent construction of the disc golf area, a tree evaluation was performed. The evaluation was completed by Washington Forestry Consultants, Inc. in June of 2014 and can be found on the city’s website at www.ci.lacey.wa.us.
