PUBLIC INPUT SOUGHT ON GRANT TO ENHANCE TRAIL AT WOODLAND CREEK COMMUNITY PARK
LACEY, WA, April 21, 2014: The City of Lacey Board of Park Commissioners is seeking public comment on a grant for the Woodland Creek Community Park Trail Connection Project at their next regularly scheduled meeting on Wednesday, April 23, 2014. The meeting will begin at 5:30 p.m. in the Community Room at Lacey City Hall, 420 College Street SE.
The Woodland Creek Community Park Trail Connection Project was included in the Woodland Creek Community Park Master Plan, adopted by Lacey City Council on December 2, 2010. It includes a new pedestrian and bicycle bridge over Woodland Creek, which would create an additional loop trail and connect to the existing asphalt trail in the park.
A grant application has been underway and is to be submitted to the Washington State Recreation and Conservation Office on May 1, 2014. If the grant is awarded, trail construction would begin in the summer of 2015.
