CHAMBERS LAKE STORMWATER FACILITY PROJECT
LACEY, WA, January 16, 2014: The City of Lacey will be holding a public meeting to discuss the upcoming stormwater treatment wetland project at Little Chambers Lake. The meeting will be held on Tuesday, January 28 from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. at Lacey City Hall, 420 College Street SE.
The Chambers Lake Stormwater Treatment Facility site, located at 2750 Lakeview Drive SE, will treat stormwater flows from College Street and surrounding neighborhoods. The facility will improve the water quality of Little Chambers Lake, as well as provide the opportunity to enhance its shoreline by providing habitat, open space, and new wetland-specific plantings. A street connection and pedestrian access will also be provided through the city-owned 7-acre site.
This project is partially funded through a $1 million grant from the Washington State Department of Ecology. Construction will begin in August 2014 and is expected to last through June 2015.
