2013 STREET OVERLAY PROJECT
LACEY, WA, July 10, 2013: Beginning today, the City of Lacey is working on a street overlay project to improve the conditions of nine streets throughout the city, including 6th Avenue SE, 7th Avenue SE, 13th Avenue SE, Alanna Drive, Bowker Street, Clearbrook Drive, Diamond Road, Malibu Drive, and Ulery Street. Work includes the installation of hot mix asphalt overlays and minor reconstruction work. The project is expected to be completed in mid-August.
Although these streets will remain open to traffic during this work, delays and temporary road and lane closures should be expected. Every effort will be made to maintain access to side streets and driveways. However, access will be limited for short periods until the asphalt has been placed, compacted, and cooled in front of each side street and driveway. Residents are asked to plan accordingly and to work with the flaggers for access. Businesses and residents along streets that normally allow on-street parking will receive notice in advance of the grinding and paving operations to alert them that on-street parking will not be allowed during this work.
Updated traffic advisories will be posted on Lacey’s official website at www.ci.lacey.wa.us.
