VACANCIES FOR LACEY CITY COUNCIL ADVISORY BOARDS & COMMISSIONS
LACEY, WA, May 4, 2012: The Lacey City Council is currently recruiting for one vacancy on the Historical Commission, and one vacancy on the Lodging Tax Advisory Committee.
The Lacey Historical Commission provides leadership in historic preservation and developing information concerning the historical significance of the local Lacey area. The Historical Commission meets the 1st Monday of the month at 6 p.m. Historical Commission members serve three-year terms with a two-term limit.
A professional who resides in the City of Lacey or Lacey’s urban growth area and who has experience in evaluating historic resources must fill the position on the Historical Commission. Someone with a background as an architect, historian, or planner would qualify for the position.
The Lodging Tax Advisory Committee is charged with the responsibility of annually recommending to the Lacey City Council how to best use lodging tax revenues. The Committee is comprised of five Board members who serve three year staggered terms. By statute, one member must be an elected official of the City, two representatives of businesses that collect the lodging tax, and two representatives involved in activities authorized to be funded by lodging tax revenues. The current vacancy is for a representative of a business that collects lodging tax.
