LACEY'S RESPONSE TO WINTER WEATHER CONDITIONS
LACEY, WA, January 17, 2012: Current winter weather and road conditions have forced cancellation of all Lacey Parks and Recreation programs for Tuesday, January 17, 2012. In addition, the Lacey Planning Commission meeting, also scheduled for Tuesday, January 17, has been cancelled.
Lacey’s snow and ice response plan has been activated. City crews are working very hard to clear and maintain designated priority roads to accommodate emergency services. The city has two flatbed trucks outfitted with tanks to dispense liquid anti-icer and three dump trucks outfitted with plows and sanders.
When priority routes are clear, secondary routes are addressed to provide improved access for transit, schools, and commuters. If snowfall is continuous, priority routes may require repeated plowing and secondary route plowing may be delayed. Neighborhood streets and private roads are not included. To view a map of the priority and secondary snow and ice response routes in Lacey, visit www.ci.lacey.wa.us/winter-weather.
Drivers are reminded to use slower speeds and allow extra time for traveling. To report hazardous road conditions, call the Lacey Maintenance Center at (360) 491-5644.
For more information and updated cancellations, please visit the city’s website at www.ci.lacey.wa.us or call Lacey Public Affairs at (360) 491-3214.
