2011 HOLIDAY EVENTS IN LACEY
LACEY, WA, November 29, 2011: Lacey Parks & Recreation invites you to celebrate the season with a holiday tradition—the lighting of the Christmas tree. The old-fashioned ceremony will begin at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 1, 20ll, in Huntamer Park (just off College Street at 7th Avenue SE in Lacey). The event features caroling, free hot cocoa and popcorn, and an animated holiday display, complete with a visit from Santa and his helpers.
Let the holiday cheer continue with a visit from “Signing Santa” on Friday, December 2, from 6:30 to 9:00 p.m. at Komachin Middle School, 3650 College Street SE in Lacey. The program provides hearing-impaired children with a chance to communicate their wishes to a Santa that speaks their language. It’s an opportunity for all children to gather and see the spirit of giving, seek new friends, and promote awareness of the deaf community. All children will enjoy a visit with Santa, a complimentary photo, gifts, and fun. This program is co-sponsored by the Signing Santa organization. Visit www.signingsanta.org or call Lacey Parks & Recreation at (360) 491-0857 for more information.
Bring the family and enjoy a free holiday concert on Tuesday, December 6, from 7:00 to
8:00 p.m. at the Lacey Community Center, 6729 Pacific Avenue SE in Lacey. Performances will be given by the South Sound Community Orchestra and the Rose Garden Choir.
Holiday events are FREE to the public. For more information, visit the city’s official website at www.ci.lacey.wa.us/events or call (360) 491-0857.
