LACEY HOSTS 3rd ANNUAL TURN BACK THE CLOCK RUNNING EVENT
LACEY, WA, October 28, 2011: Daylight savings requires you to turn your clock back on the first Sunday of November. The Lacey Parks and Recreation Department invites you to celebrate that “extra hour” by being part of a healthy, enjoyable, and well-organized running event on Sunday, November 6, 2011. Lacey’s 3rd annual Turn Back the Clock community event includes a 5K, 10K, and one-mile family course.
Entrants in the 5K (run or walk) and 10K (run only) will start and finish at Rainier Vista Community Park (5475 45th Avenue SE). Both running events provide course certification, professional timing, and medals for first, second, and third place, grouped by age. Registration for the 5K and 10K is $22.
Families can join in the fun too. The “Turn Back the Clock” event features a special one-mile course at Rainer Vista Community Park, tailored specifically for families of all ages. Participants will receive a commemorative ribbon for finishing. Registration for the one-mile family course is only $6 per person.
All “Turn Back the Clock” participants can enjoy complimentary refreshments and will be eligible for door prizes. Set your goal, ramp up your fitness level and get ready to go! Proceeds from the “Turn Back the Clock” running event will benefit Lacey Youth Programs.
