MULLEN ROAD SE CLOSURE
LACEY, WA, September, 26, 2011: Beginning September 28, 2011, Mullen Road SE will be closed to vehicular traffic between Stikes Drive SE and Ruddell Road SE. Westbound movements onto Mullen Road SE will be allowed from 39th Avenue SE and from Park Place Loop SE. However, there will be no eastbound access to these streets from Mullen Road SE. This closure is required to install a deep sewer main and to connect the new system across Mullen Road SE at Ruddell Road SE.
It is recommended to plan extra time to travel around the closure. In addition, there will be multiple lane closures on Ruddell Road SE. Long delays are expected. Updated advisories are posted on Lacey’s official website at www.ci.lacey.wa.us. The road is scheduled to re-open by October 1, 2011.
This work is part of the Ruddell Road Sewer Improvements project which provides for the replacement of gravity sewer and sewer force mains that are undersized. Work also includes improvements to the storm water system. The City of Lacey awarded a $1.0 million construction contract to Les Russell Construction of Orting, Washington, to perform the work.
