On March 1, 2011, the City of Lacey received a $10,000 Urban and Community Forestry Program Grant to prepare a forest management plan for Wonderwood Park. Grant funding was provided by the Washington State Department of Natural Resources (DNR), with assistance from the USDA Forest Service. Washington Forestry Consultants, Inc. were retained to prepare a management plan that ensures the general health of the park’s forest system—trees reach mature growth, provide habitat for birds and wildlife, shade trails, and give people a beautiful place to enjoy nature—to enhance the quality of life in our community for years to come.
If you are unable to attend, but wish to provide input on the Forest Management Plan for Wonderwood Park, please contact Lori Flemm, Parks and Recreation Director, at (360) 491-0857, or email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
