LACEY COMMUNITY MARKET HOSTS FAMILY DAY
LACEY, WA, August 8, 2011: Bring the whole family to the Lacey Community Market for Family Day on Saturday, August 13, 2011, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Huntamer Park. This traditional open air market, hosted by the City of Lacey, offers a unique mix of vendors, interactive displays, community resource information, and endless family entertainment.
Visitors to the market can enjoy free concerts and dance exhibitions. Don’t miss a lively performance by the River Ridge Taiko Drummers, beginning at 10:00 a.m. Witness the famous Bubbleman, Garry Golightly, create amazing bubbles from 11:00 a.m.to 12:00 p.m. The Crow Drummers will perform on stage from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., followed by dance exhibitions from Our Name is Panama and NW Chamorritas.
Give the little ones a chance to romp and stomp in the tumble bus and bounce house. Plus, face painting, crafts, and outdoor games for everyone, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.— courtesy of Lacey Parks & Recreation and the Boys and Girls Club of Thurston County.
The Lacey Community Market offers a bounty of traditional market items including fresh-cut flowers, breads, locally-made and harvested foods, honey, and an abundance of seasonal produce. You will also find crafts, hand-made jewelry, antiques, collectibles, forgotten treasures, refreshments and local cuisine (i.e., barbeque, burritos, and many other delicious treats). Nearly 90 vendors are expected to line the streets for a distinct shopping experience.
