JENSEN HOUSE NOMINATED FOR LACEY REGISTER OF HISTORIC PROPERTIES
LACEY, WA, May 23, 2011: The City of Lacey Historical Commission will consider the nomination of the Jensen House at its regular monthly meeting held in the Council Chambers at City Hall (420 College Street SE) on Monday, June 6, 2011, at 6:00 p.m. The public is encouraged to attend the Commission meeting and comment on the Jensen House nomination.
The Jensen House is located at 809 Ulery St. SE and was nominated for the register by current homeowner, Rex Mikler. The home was built in 1928, and represents the common architectural style of homes built in the Lacey community following World War One.
Listing a home on the Lacey Register of Historic Properties is completely voluntary. The Jensen House is being considered because it has local significance and meets the criteria for having distinctive architectural characteristics of a type, period, style or method of construction, or represents a significant and distinguishable entity whose components may lack distinction. It also exemplifies or reflects special elements of the City’s cultural, special, economic, political, aesthetic, engineering or architectural history for listing on the Lacey Register of Historic Properties.
