OPEN COUNCIL POSITION
LACEY, WA, December 3, 2010: The City of Lacey is accepting
applications to fill an unexpired term on the Lacey City Council. The
successful applicant will serve until certification of the November 2011
Applicants must reside within the City limits for one year prior to
appointment, and be registered to vote. All Council positions are
non-partisan. City Council members serve the community at large. The
Lacey City Council is the community’s legislative body responsible for
adopting ordinances and policies, approving the budget, and establishing
City goals and priorities.
City Council meetings are held every Thursday evening beginning at 7:00
p.m. Applicants will have the ability to commit personal time preparing
for and attending Council meetings, intergovernmental committee
assignments, and community activities as needed.
The successful applicant will have a demonstrated interest and
involvement in the community. He or she will have strong analytical,
interpersonal, problem solving, and collaboration skills. All applicants
will be asked about their interest in running for election in 2011 for a
full four-year term.
Application packets are available at Lacey City Hall, 420 College Street
SE, PO Box 3400, Lacey, Washington 98509-3400, and on the City’s
website at www.ci.lacey.wa.us. A letter of interest is requested, along with the application materials; a resume is optional.
Applications will be accepted until 5:00 p.m. Thursday, December 30, 2010.
Interviews will be held by the City Council on January 20, 2011, in the
Lacey City Hall Council Chambers and will be open to the public.
