VACANCIES FOR LACEY CITY COUNCIL ADVISORY BOARDS & COMMISSIONS
LACEY, WA, July 26, 2010: The Lacey City Council is currently recruiting for vacancies on the Library Board, Historical Commission, LEOFF I Disability Board, and Human Services Review Council.
The Library Board works with staff in developing long-range plans for library services. Meetings are held the 1st Wednesday of the month at 7:00 p.m. Library Board members serve five-year terms with a two-term limit. There are two vacancies on the Library Board. One position must be a resident of the City of Lacey; the other position can be either a City of Lacey resident or live in the urban growth boundary of the City.
The Historical Commission provides leadership in historic preservation and developing information concerning the historical significance of the local Lacey area. Meetings are held the 1st Monday of the month at 6:00 p.m. Historical Commission members serve three-year terms with a two-term limit. Applicants must be residents of the City of Lacey.
The LEOFF I Disability Board administers benefits and entitlements for Lacey Law Enforcement Officers and Fire Fighters. Meetings are held, as needed, at noon on the 2nd Thursday of the month. LEOFF members serve two-year terms with no term limits. Applicants must be residents of the City of Lacey or live in the urban growth boundary of the City.
The Human Services Review Council sets criteria, considers applications, and recommends funding for social service agencies to help meet community needs. Meetings are held the 3rd Friday of the month at 8:00 a.m. HSRC members serve two-year terms with no term limits. Applicants must be residents of the City of Lacey.
