If the stormwater in your neighborhood is causing flooding, we need to know about it!
Flooding can affect just one property, a whole neighborhood or the entire City. The City of Lacey’s Stormwater Utility is here to help determine the causes of flooding in your area and work to identify potential solutions.
Though flooding is often inevitable here in the Puget Sound area, some of it can be prevented. City crews work diligently to keep storm drains clear from leaves and debris. With over 5,000 storm drains in Lacey, we could use your help!
If flooding is minor you can try to “Rake a Drain” by using a shovel or rake to remove the debris from the storm drains in front of your home or in your neighborhood. You can compost the debris with the rest of your yard waste or use it as mulch around your plants.
Remember safety first! If you feel it is unsafe or flooding is severe, stay out of the flooded area, and report the incident immediately using the instructions below:
