Report a Spill
Storm drains are for rain only! Pollutants dumped into storm drains can flow to nearby lakes, streams and Puget Sound, and they can even find their way to our drinking water supplies. With about 5,000 storm drains in Lacey, we need your help to watch for people dumping anything in storm drains, such as:
- Carpet cleaning wastewater
- Grease or motor oil
- Paint (or washing paint tools)
- Pet waste
- Vehicles leaking oil and fluids
- Wash water
- Yard debris
We also want to know about cars in your neighborhood that are leaking large amounts of oil or other fluids into the street—this is not only illegal, it is very harmful to our lakes, streams and water supplies.
Spills happen and we can help clean them up, but intentional dumping is illegal and harmful to our lakes, streams and water supplies. If you see any substance, other than rain, entering a storm drain in your neighborhood, call the City of Lacey Spill Response Hotline to report it.
