COMMUNITY INFORMATION

 

Community is the core of the Lacey Police Department. There are a number of partnerships, volunteer opportunities, public meetings, and other public and community oriented information that is available. Citizen Partnerships

The Lacey Police Department strives to provide education and training to citizens of Lacey in an effort to involve them in crime reduction. Some of the programs offered are the Cops, Cars N' Kids Event, Multi-Housing Crime Reduction Program and the Retail Theft Program. more »


Volunteer Positions

The Lacey Police Department is supported by a core group of dedicated volunteers consisting of the Explorer Post and Lacey Resource Unit. Volunteers alone provided over 10,000 hours to the community in support of Lacey's public safety activities. more »


Pedestrian Safety

Drivers may be familiar with the idea that they have to stop for pedestrians crossing the road at marked crosswalks, but many do not realize that they are also required to yield right-of-way to pedestrians at ‘unmarked crosswalks.’  more »


Fireworks

A majority of voters approved propositions to ban consumer fireworks, which prohibited the sale and discharge of fireworks within the city limits.  more »
