Five lane lines will be available for open swim and one will be set-up for lap swimming and swim tests.
|The Parks and Recreation Department is offering a series of free open swims for Veterans and Veteran Families as a special thank you for your service. Open swims are at North Thurston and River Ridge High School Pools, full information available on the event flyer .|
An adult (18 years of age or above) must be in the water within arms' reach of a child that meets any one of the following criteria (there can be no more than 3 children for each accompanying adult):
- The child is a non-swimmer.
- The child is under 6 years of age.
- The child is wearing a life jacket or other supportive flotation device.
- The child can't touch the bottom of the pool in the shallowest area (River Ridge depth: 3.5 feet; Timberline depth: 4 feet) or hasn't passed a swim test.
