Wonderwood Park Forest Management Plan Implementation

The City of Lacey received a $10,000 Urban and Community Forest Program grant from Washington State Department of Natural Resources (DNR) on March 1, 2011. Funding assistance is provided by the USDA Forest Service. The grant funds were used to retain a consulting urban forester, Washington Forestry Consultants, Inc., to prepare a forestry management plan for Wonderwood Park.
A public meeting was held at the park on August 22 to get input from citizens and neighbors of Wonderwood Park. The forestry management plan was approved by the Board of Park Commissioners on September 26, 2011.
