Municipal Parks

McAllister Community Park

A 60-acre, undeveloped future community park site near the intersection of Marvin Road and 19th Avenue SE.  The site features a large stand of native oak trees, and the Little McAllister Creek that flows into McAllister Creek in the Nisqually Delta.

59.7 acres

Amenities
Park is undeveloped, and no amenities are present on the site.
The city is pursuing acquisition of the adjacent 1.8-mile rail corridor when abandoned.


Park History
The land that will become McAllister Community Park was purchased by the City of Lacey in 1994 at a cost of $700,000, funded by a donation of $240,000, and $460,000 in city funds.  The park will be constructed when the surrounding residential area and the adjacent school site develops.  Despite the undeveloped condition of this property, people visit and are welcome on this property, provided park regulations and hours are observed and the natural features respected.
