Permit Fees

Building Permits

Building permit fees are based upon the value and/or square footage of the project. If you would like to know the fee(s) for your building permit(s) ahead of time, please call (360) 491-5642, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, and we will calculate it for you. In addition to the permit fee, there is a State Building Code fee of $4.50 on all building permits. For commercial projects, there is also a 65 percent Plan Check Fee ($25.00 minimum). For New Single Family Residence permits of 1,400 square feet or less, the Plan Check Fee is 25 percent of the Building Permit fee; for those exceeding 1,400 square feet, the Plan Check Fee is 50 percent of the Building Permit fee. For other residential projects, please call us at (360) 491-5642 to determine the Plan Check Fee.
 

Electrical Permits

The City of Lacey follows the State of Washington Department of Labor & Industries current fee schedule.  An electrical fee worksheet is also available.
   

Plumbing Permits

The base fee for the issuance of each plumbing permit is $23.50. The fee for issuing each supplemental permit for which the original permit has not expired, been canceled or finaled is $7.25. Beyond these fees, each unit/fixture has its own fee, which is added onto the base fee of $23.50. For commercial projects requiring plan review, there is a $25.00 Plan Check Fee if submitted separately from the building plans (deferred submittal). Please see our Plumbing Permit Fee Schedule for more information.
 

Mechanical Permits

The base fee for the issuance of each mechanical permit is $23.50. The fee for issuing each supplemental permit for which the original permit has not expired, been canceled or finaled is $7.25. Beyond these fees, each unit/fixture has its own fee, which is added onto the base fee of $23.50. Single Wide: $100.00
Double Wide: $125.00
Triple Wide: $150.00
Pre-manufactured Addition: $50.00

Sign Permits

Monument Sign: $90.00
Wall Sign: $54.00
Alteration: $44.00
(add 65 percent Plan Check Fee and $4.50 State Building Code Fee)

Electrical Signs (added to above fees if sign is electric): $43.10 for first sign, $20.40 each additional sign
