Inspection Services

Project inspections can be scheduled by calling (360) 491-5642, Monday - Friday from 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., at least one day in advance of the desired inspection date. You will need to provide the following information:

  • the permit number
  • the job address
  • the type of inspection(s) needed

We cannot designate the exact inspection time, but will note a preference for morning or afternoon if needed by a homeowner. If you need to establish a more precise inspection time, you must call at 8:00 a.m. on the day of your scheduled inspection.

Schedule an inspection online using our Online Inspection and Plan Review Services.

note:  You will need a phone access code to use this online service.

You may also schedule an inspection using the Interactive Voice Response System by telephone by calling (360) 491-3210. Any inspection entered prior to 11:30 p.m. on the web or IVR will be scheduled for the following business day.

Residential Project Final Inspections: Your project will not be considered approved until you have received a fully-approved Final Electrical Inspection (if applicable) and a fully-approved Final Building Inspection.

Commercial Project Final Inspections: Prior to scheduling your Final Building Inspection, you must have a fully approved Final Electrical Inspection.  Once you call for a Final Inspection, each department has three business days in which to complete it. Once all applicable departments (Building, Planning, Fire, Public Works) have approved their Final Inspections, a Certificate of Occupancy will be issued.

Trip Fees: If you call for an inspection and are not prepared when the inspector arrives, you may be assessed a $47.00 re-inspection fee.
